Safe Hands

Stoneware, glazed
20× 17× 9 cm · Unique work · 2025

Part of the Safe Spaces series, this sculpture preserves the gesture of hands once used to cover the face in shame. Turned inward rather than outward, they form both shield and shelter — a protective reflex shaped by fear, judgment, and emotional exposure.

The work reflects the tension between concealment and safety: the instinct to hide in order to survive, while quietly longing to be seen without fear. Within Safe Spaces, the sculpture becomes not only a memory of protection, but also the possibility of slowly lowering the hands again.
